Experimenting with shutter speeds

Image
In this image I captured a seagull about to land with its wings upwards. To achieve this shot I used a high shutter speed to freeze the seagull in motion. For this photo I got 3 seagulls flying in a line. What I like the most about this photo is how I captured 3 positions of flight for each seagull. I used a high shutter speed in order to get this to work. In this photo I have taken a picture of a seagull in flight while flapping its wings. By using a low shutter speed it has caused the background and the seagulls wings to blur. For this photo I have taken a picture of a duck diving its head under the water. What I like most about this one is that you can see the water separated the moment that the duck put its head in the water. This photo is my personal favorite of the five that I took. It is a duck flapping its wings in the water while spreading out its full wingspan. To get this moment I used a very high shutter speed.

Exposure Photography

For my first photograph I have taken a picture of some flowers. What I really like about this picture is the vibrant colors from the flowers making the image look bright and have a happy feeling. To achieve the brightness of this photo during the cloudy day that it was shot I used 1/500 shutter speed in order to let in a good amount of light.  In this image I took a picture of a wind vein spinning at quite a high speed but managed to get a photo of it as if  it was still. What I like is that by looking at the photo you wouldn't be able to tell if it was moving but in reality it was spinning quite fast. To be able to give the effect that the that its not moving I used a really high shutter speed. For this photo I took a photo of a path leading away into the park. I like this photo because the park looks very peaceful and quite. Becaus...
